Kickstart Growth
If you’re ready to accelerate your business activity, you’ll find it helpful to have a mentor or a coach that ‘has your back’, giving you sage advice and making sure you keep your eye on all aspects of your organization’s ability to step up the pace once you shift into high gear. We can often answer the “do you know anybody who…?” or “how would I….?” questions. We may have information that will answer that one remaining question that is keeping you from launching the next phase of growth and development. Check out the Resources section of this website (especially the Business Builder Toolbox videos) for some initial ideas, then get in touch with Pivotal Momentum Inc. We’d love to help!
Explore New Possibilities
You may see -- or think you see -- an exciting opportunity for your organization. But how do you validate it? We can help, with finding industry data, cold call interviews with people who can help, and designing small, inexpensive experiments to validate a new idea. And we will bring into the discussion, considerations you might not have thought of --- partnerships or business models that could accelerate your progress, accessing information and contacts for foreign markets through Trade Commissioners’ services, people with very specialized skill sets that can help you avoid the logs-under-the-water that can sink your plan prematurely. Put us to the test!
Reposition to Pursue Opportunity
It’s a rare organization that can continue to do the same business the same way for decades on end. Most of us have to adapt over time as markets, economies and societies change. If that’s your situation today, don’t panic. Repositioning is a great time to look anew at your ‘sweet spot’ (how what you do is both needed by customers and not offered by competitors). If you can create a whole new market, that’s even better! But there are challenges in ‘renovating’ an existing organization to serve a new purpose. We can help you identify those, and devise ways to address them. Two things we know for sure: first, you will need to tell your (new) story in a new way. And secondly, if you’ve been in business for a while, you’ve almost certainly got far more assets to bring to the ‘new business’ than you give yourself credit for. Ask us for more details!
Test New Ideas In the Real World
Bringing new ideas into the marketplace can be an expensive and high-risk process. But it doesn’t have to be. We can help you design ways to test your ideas in small, incremental and fast-response ways so you dramatically increase your chances of success. It starts with knowing who your ‘ideal customer’ is. Do you know? Ask us about the ‘minimum viable product’ concept. And about ways to encourage your potential or current customers to help shape your new business, long before you go into launch mode. We’d love to help you succeed massively!
Make the Case for Investment
Whether it’s to justify your own decision about investing in a new or redeveloped enterprise, or you need to convince senior managers, bankers or other investors in the business merits of what you’re doing, you need to be able to make the case for investment. We can help either by working through the financials of the business with you directly or connecting you with specialists who know this arena extremely well. We’ve put together and reviewed business plans; we’ve also been beside entrepreneurs when they’ve made the pitch for private funding. Kathryn’s favourite (and most unusual) assignment was co- developing a business plan and investment plan with her nephew --- for his business idea --- as the two of them drove from Regina, Sasketchewan to Sydenham, Ontario. All done in less than 72 hours… the plan and the trip. Can we help you too?
Manage to Reach Your Goals
There’s a big difference between simply managing an organization in relatively ‘steady state’ and managing one that is going through either a repositioning, a transformation or even an apparently straight-forward expansion into new markets. It’s like renovating a house while you’re still living in it. We can help you identify the challenges you’re going to face and some simple ways you can stay on track as you move forward. It all starts with mindset. Then building into your day some straight-forward ways to manage both the day- to-day and the new adventure on which you are embarking. Buckle up!
